Say Aaaaaah! Stuck Sketches April

Phew, so I'm really pushing it this month, but better late than never!

If I am able, I love playing along with the monthly sketches over at Stuck?! I was absolutely thrilled to recently learn that my entry was chosen as one of the winning layouts for Feb. Yay!

Poor Josh had to have two of his little teeth pulled out last month. They were just far too happy in his mouth, refusing to budge, even though their 'big brothers' were starting to push out behind them. Nothing to be done, but have them removed, so as to make space. Needless to say, it was a very big deal for the poor chap but I couldn't be prouder of my little super star!

This is my entry for the April 15th sketch

The 'a's alpha's are so precious, but I HAD to use them for the title! To make your own notebook effect, simply punch a row of holes with a single punch, and then snip the in-between sections unevenly, scrunching the bits leftover and maybe even removing a few of the pieces.

I am just loving the new Simple Stories Urban Traveller & 24/7 collections!

This Greatest View flair button works perfectly with this 24/7 collection. Don't forget to look out for the amazing new designs up for sale on Thursday evening!

This is the sketch... entries close 30th April (Australia time) why not try squeeze a layout in today ;)

Materials used: Simple Stories 24/7 'Gray Grid', Urban Traveler 'Lets Go', 24/7 3x4 Journaling Card Elements, 24/7 Fundamentals Cardstock stickers, various AC alphas, Imaginarium Designs chipboard alphas, Elle's Studio 'You & Me' tidbits, Greatest View '2013 Black & White' flair, sewing machine, Memento dye ink, Amy Tangerine 'Yes Please' phrase roller stamp

So many ideas... too little time!

Is it mad that I am feeling a little bit 'sad' that my Glitz kit posts at Sassy Scrappers are coming to an end? Lol. I have had a ball this month. All I can say is, do yourself a favour and get your fingers on some Color Me Happy, pronto!

Today I'm sharing a couple of ideas with you on the blog... as ever, I'd love you to pop over and share your thoughts. Thank you SO much for all your wonderful comments on my little fishy. He and Erin loved sharing the spotlight last week! ;)

TTFN!

Greatest View - Dear Josh

This layout was up on the Greatest View blog recently and I thought I'd pop in on here as it may have gone under the radar!

The Story | These buttons just 'spoke' to me!

How you communicated the story | My son is getting to an age now, where he is able to test his own theories (and push those boundaries even further!) I feel like I'm talking to the walls at times! He seems to listen more to what I say if I write it down or if I'm desperate, I text him! Lol. I want him to know how important things like manners and perseverance in life are. Perhaps he will see this layout and take it in!
Dear josh_1
Photos | This shot of him was taken on my iPhone and edited in Instagram.
Techniques or tips to share |  I really wanted to let the messages on the flair shine in this layout. I have purposefully kept the colour palette very neutral, only adding a hint of colour here and there to compliment the colour in the sentiments on the flair.

 Storyteller
Do you sometimes find it easier to text/write someone something heartfelt rather than say it face to face? Using specific 'journaling' on an embellishment can be an effective way of getting your message across!
Why not pop over to the shop now to see if the gorgeous new Easter flair 'speak' to you!
Thank you for all your kind comments, they mean the world to me!

Glitz's 'Color me Happy' is the perfect catch!

I'd love it if you could pop over and let me know what you think!

At the Beach - KIU April challenge

Hi again!

I'm huddling indoors whilst a rather spectacular storm is making its way across our area... My kids laugh at me when I scream like a little girl with each thunder clap!

I have another layout to share with you, this time it's for Kraft it Up! This month's challenge is a corker... recycling! I had so much fun with mine!

For my 'kraft' I used a scrappy supply pizza box! Yep... I just cut a 12x12 section and jazzed it up with some of my fave Color Shine in Lamé and Georgia Peach! I've used a roughly torn piece of Tim Holtz  Core'dinations Kraft Core for the middle and adhered it with machine stitching.

Some gorgeous Kaisercraft and Amy Tangerine stamping adds a bit of lightheartedness along with a few beautiful papers from Glitz's Unchartered Waters collection.

It might sound far fetched, but I have yet to come across a CHA collection that my Greatest View flair do not match! Gail has seriously done her homework! I have used a couple little 'In Style' & 'Fresh Style' beauties here along with some more 'recycled' bits. When I first learned about this upcoming challenge, I started saving the backs of my packs of Studio Calico wood veneer. I've used the front and back of it. Spritzing the lighter woodgrain side with Color Shine and punching a few circles of it for the cluster.

Materials used: Pizza box! Tim Holtz Core'dinations Kraft Core; Glitz Unchartered Waters 6x6 pad; Studio Calico Wood Veneer & packaging; Basic Grey fabric tab; Jessica Sprague printable; Amy Tangerine 'Yes Please' clear stamp; Glitz 'Color me Happy' woodgrain washi; MME brad; Kaiser stamp; sewing machine; Greatest View flair

So grab those bits you are about to toss out and see if they can serve a higher purpose! lol. Entries close on April 30th and can be linked up here

I'll be back on Friday with some Sassy Goodness...

Till then!

Two Day - 123 April Challenge

Hello hello!

Hope you are enjoying a wonderful weekend. I love this time of year in Brisbane... waving good bye to the humidity and welcoming crisp mornings and sunny skies.

I'm popping in to share my layout for this month's challenge at 123. The criteria for April are the following

A fabulous combination, I'm sure you'll agree. It would be lovely to have you play along with us!
Ok, so my 'duck-egg' is probably slightly off, but close enough, lol. I've created a couple of white birthday embellishments on my Silhouette and teamed them with some fab Greatest View and Studio Calico flair.
By keeping some of your photo corners square and then rounding off another, it can be a subtle way to highlight one of your pictures.
I've used a pencil crayon in a very dark brown on top of the woodgrain paper to add a bit of dimension to this heading
My journaling is hidden on the back of this incredibly cute character... one of a gorgeous Easter set of free printables from the crazy talented Emma Stafrace
Materials used: Paper: Basic Grey 'Soleil', Crate and Pink Pasilee artisan mistable paper; Gesso; card stock, Simple Stories Sn@p Life cardstock elements; Pink Paislee Mistable chipboard arrows; Greatest View flair; Studio Calico 'Sundrifter' flair and wood veneer; Em Stafrace printables

Don't forget to link your entries up on the blog by Tuesday the 30th April for your chance to win some fantastic prizes!

See you again soon!
