The Greatest View

My most favourite time of the year, is gathering momentum... birthday parties, pool parties, christmas parties... oh yes! But the card cupboard is looking rather neglected, so I've taken some time this week to top it up, starting with some goodies on the Greatest View blog :)

There were also some fantastic entries for the GV/Jot Magazine mini challenge. The fabulous Jot girls joined us for some fun with the theme being 'The Greatest View'.

I'm sure lots of you will agree, one of the best views any woman can experience is the first glimpse of the tiny person growing inside them. Seeing my little mouse was especially moving for me, as the journey to being her mother was a bumpy one. I know now that the angel babies that came fleetingly into my life, taught me lessons through the tears and I am ever grateful to the beautiful people in my life who lifted me up when days felt dark.

Lastly, the winner of my little Sassy Scrappers blog hop prize has not come forward. I will be redrawing a winner on Friday, so be sure to pop back then :)

Thank you for popping in x

Heartbreakers!

Scrolling through the photos on my phone sometimes leaves me in stitches! Look at these crazy kids, entertaining us through glass... Beautiful little piggy noses!

They are debuting in my layout for this month's challenge at 123 Challenge blog with the following prompts:

* COLOUR = Yellow
* WORD = Heart
* TECHNIQUE = Mixed Alpha Title or Journaling

I'm using a delicious sheet of Glitz Wild & Free 'Chevron' which is in store at Sassy Scrappers now. Love the ironic touch this little Greatest View flair brings to the layout ;)

Some little arrows... I've stitched my journalling to one - almost looks like a medieval scroll

I've mixed some simple black alpha stickers with a cut that I've made in the Glitz paper using my Silhouette. I've backed it with some red for a bold title and dotted a few heart embellies to play it up.

Hopefully you get to play along this month - You have until 11.59pm October 31st to enter your creations to the link tool on the sidebar, please remember ALL entries must be created and use for this challenge ONLY!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

KIU colour challenge for October

Apart from some cool little Halloween themed goodies, orange is not a colour I usually turn to... Probably because of my olive complexion, it ain't a go-to colour for me ;)

Navy is another deliciously underused colour in my stash... time to try and rectify! Enter Kraft it Up's October challenge

Ok, so I didn't end up with lots of navy! I would've reeeeallly liked a few splashes of the new Navy Color Shine to finish it off. It is instore at Sassy Scrappers now! These Greatest View arrow badges are a firm favourite of mine. They just go with everything! I've paired it with some stitching using an Amy Tangerine template.

I've sat on some Studio Calico cork stickers for ages. Sometimes I need a reminder to use the pretty things, instead of just admire them!

Hopefully you get a chance to join us. Looking forward to seeing your entries!

November challenge for Once Upon a Sketch

** Thank you to all who played along in the Sassy Scrappers blog hop!
The winners are going to be announced on Sunday, so please stay tuned! **

A wonderful hello from a gusty Brizzy! It seems we are going to get a bit of a reprieve from the heat tomorrow, not that the weather hasn't been fun for school holiday activities!

I'm just popping in to share my layout for the November challenge at Once Upon a Sketch. Another gorgeous sketch from Nadia...

Journalling Theme: "The Journey..."

You are free to interpret our theme ANY WAY you like. It is for your inspiration and this theme word DOES NOT need to be part of your title or journalling. But please make sure your layout is based on the sketch below and includes journalling (hidden journalling is fine). Acceptable journalling is MORE than just a sentence, or generic writing such as date/place etc. It needs to be present and at least 3 lines long. Remember, hidden journalling (under a photo/tag or behind your page) is perfectly fine but please DO let us know in your post where your journalling is!

Goodness knows, Rob and I have seen a few things in our time together. Eighteen years on, we look back on the memories made and forward to a future that has so much yet to be explored!

Just loving this Glitz Finnley range! It's available in the Sassy Scrappers store now

I've hidden my journalling under this sticker, which I've backed with card stock for strength.

I've cut this delicate rose on my Silhouette for some romance and to echo the whimsical typefaces used in the stickers.

These incredibly versatile Greatest View Arrow flair have to be some of my all time favourite!

This is the sketch

Hopefully you can find some time to join us for this month's challenge. Entries can be linked here and you have until midnight October 25th Australian Eastern Standard Time.

Thank you for stopping by. I'll be back with a 'spooktacular' share tomorrow!!

Sweet Moments - Greatest View with PageMaps

Hello hello!

October is here and my little calendar is looking busy!

To start us off this month, the Greatest View DT, along with some fabulous scrappers (who you will all be familiar with!) have had loads of fun showcasing GV goodies using Becky Fleck's brilliant sketches at PageMaps!

This was the awesome sketch that was given to me

I've kept the composition pretty much the same, substituting the two smaller photos for one larger one of my little mouse, looking cute as a button on her birthday.

Not trusting myself to draw an accurate large circle, I enlisted the help of a pot lid! I traced the shape with a white gel pen and then drew another as a guideline for my stitching.

A beautiful new 'Good Stuff' badge is one of a bunch of new collections in store now!

The gorgeous chevron Echo Park paper has been run through with a circular embossing folder to give it a bit of texture, after which I've made a faux notepad effect by punching it in a row with a single hole punch and roughing up the edges.

It's a bit tricky to see, but as a very first layer, I spread a section of gesso onto my patterned paper and then ran a Glitz Roller doodle over it. It gave it a kind of de-bossed effect, which I will definately be trying again!
Here I've used one the new 'Here and Now' badges. Seriously, they are all too divine!

If you have the time, pop over to the PageMaps site to see the other layouts in our Guest Designer group - you won't be disappointed!!

Till next time
