Hugs and Kisses

Hooray for hump day - the weekend is nearing!

This layout was created for my application onto the Kraft It Up DT and then later
picked up for publication (SBM Vol 15 no 9). It's one of my all-time favourites, celebrating
nearly 20 years with this man of mine.

Having met in High School, we've been and seen a lot during our time together.
This is the first picture taken of us. We weren't even a couple yet
(I don't even think I knew that Rob liked me! Lol) We were so very young.

The beautiful die cut heart envelope was cut using my Silhouette. I've used the weeded
hearts as embellishments along with a few other bits and pieces.

Being so young, people doubted our relationship would last. This song by Shania Twain
was very popular when we met and it became a favourite of ours.
We had our first dance to it at our wedding.

Gosh, I'm feeling a touch emotional now! hehe

Thank you so much for visiting

Would the real Joshua please stand up

Hello hello!

I'd love to share this layout that was published in Scrapbooking Memories Vol 16 no 1 (Sep '13).
It uses a fun pic of Josh that was taken at his first visit to the circus back in 2009.
He won the glasses at one of those clown ball games and was so very chuffed with them!

The cluster was inspired by the flags of the Big Top and the 'Oh man' flair from
Greatest View made for the perfect start of my title.

The patterned papers are all October Afternoon. Using my sewing machine,
I've stitched over some areas to create interest and a pocket for my pull out photo/journalling.

Reverse of the card, full of fun mixed elements, just like a circus!

Thanks so much for popping in!

Say it with chocolate

So I was in the supermarket yesterday, on the hunt for chocolate for my Valentine.
My go-to for him is Maltesers or Toblerones. Looking at the packaging of the big
400g bars, I figured a 12x12 sheet of paper would be pretty much bang on for width,
so with a little plan in mind, I popped the tasty triangular delight in my basket!

Now, let's not put a 'last minute' label on this (hehe) but I did cook this up in a very short
amount of time last night and I'm pretty chuffed with the result. Super simple to put together
and I've included a link to the cut file further down, for those of you with Silhouette
machines who wish to make up one of these for your loved one.

The cut file uses almost one sheet of 12x12
FOR PERSONAL USE ONLY PLEASE

I've backed the negative space with various coloured scraps

Carefully fold the wrapper around the chocolate bar and run
some double sided tape along the long edge at the top to close
I've embellished with some twine, ribbon, wood veneer and a few snippets, like this Elle's Studio one.
Wishing you a day full of love!

Beautiful - SBM cover layout

I couldn't believe my luck when I found out I was going to have one of my layouts featured
on the cover of Scrapbooking Memories. As you can imagine, the absolute elation of that
moment was completely amplified when I finally held that issue (Vol 16 no 4) in my hands!

This is the layout...

I kept the design very simple to accommodate for text and other images that would be
going on the cover. The colours looked quite different, printed.

The beautiful Simple Stories butterfly pattern set the tone for the embellishments
and a few soft layers.

A tiny bit of stitching for texture and interest.

Pull out journalling hidden in a mini envelope.

This is definitely one of my favourite layouts. Miss Mouse is pretty fond of it too ;)

See you soon!

Captain Colours

Hello hello!

It seems like I've had such a long break, enjoying the last bit of the holidays and getting my babies ready for the school year. My little sausage started her first day of Kindy this year which is a huge step for her (and Mum!) We all have to get used to new routines :)

For whatever reason I often forget to post layouts that get published. Sometimes they look totally different in print, a little washed out...

This little guy had the honour of being alongside the Editor's Note in Scrapbooking Memories back in August (Vol 16 No1)

My crazy boy attached a bunch of markers to his shirt and pronounced himself 'Captain Colours' - it was hilarious! Glitz 'Color me Happy' was perfect for the vibrancy of this fun photo.

I've hidden my journalling on the back of this Misstina printable inside one of my fave Amy Tangerine vellum envelopes (sadly these are now all used up!) I've played with a spot of misting and simple embellishments.

I've reversed and coloured these Studio Calico Sundrifter wood veneer with mists to compliment my colour palette. A Greatest View flair is the perfect finishing touch.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
