It's busy out there folks... sheesh! I'd rather stockpile the fridge and hide indoors, only venturing out after the crowds have worn themselves out for the day! ;)
If you have some time for fun (or to de-stress!) why not join us for the December 123 Challenge. This month's prompts are:
* COLOUR = METALLICS
* WORD = JOY* TECHNIQUE = BOWS
I'm ashamed to admit, but I am one of those people who has possibly the worst newborn photos ever. With my first child, we went to the labour ward and forgot the camera! So the first moments of my son's life were captured on a disposable one, bought hastily in the gift shop. Tragedy! I tried to get better prepared for the second... packing the camera in the bag days before I went in. Erm.... not thinking about where my arms were going to be during a c-section, these precious moments were entrusted to a less-than-enthusiatic nurse and well... the rest is history I guess. I wish I could have a rewind button where I wasn't looking like death, or the baby was sleeping beautifully, or I took those annoying sales people up on their offer for a free portrait of your bundle of joy. It's like the first few weeks of my children's little lives didn't happen! This is one of a precious few (that after heavy retouching) is just about passable...
Bows... this was a challenge for me. Not a lot of flowers or 'pretties' on my layouts as you know, but I was totally inspired, having just experienced 'The Power of Heidi' after her class here in Brisbane. I've created a little mixed tag with a Crate ticket, a Heidi mistable camera and a clear heart from the Mixed Company ephemera pack. The seam binding was then tied through the die cut shapes of this Pink Paislee 'Color Wash' paper.

I've used some super cute bow pattern Mixed Company paper to back the triangle die cuts as well as a gold Crate doily for the metallic aspect of the challenge. Still enjoying my Epiphany Craft tool, I've teamed it with this gorgeous #love Greastest View flair.
Entries for the challenge close at 11.55pm 31st December.
If you want to get your hands on some Heidi Swapp or Pink Paislee goodies, there is plenty available in the Sassy Scrappers store. As a bonus, all orders placed between the 16th and 25th December, go into a lucky draw!
Have a great day!

ReplyDeleteI like how you added the bows yet still kept to your own style. The page still feels like you. And I agree with you...I just want to stay at home for the next few days, until all the holiday craziness is over. If only... :)
