I quite enjoy a challenge here and there and earmarked this Mei Li Paperie one earlier in the month and
almost missed out when I realised the deadline was mid month not end of the month, lol.
My time as a Scrapbooking Memories Master is rapidly drawing a close, as the 2014 entrants await to hear
if they are going to be one of 10 lucky scrappers. Personally, I cannot wait to see who will be inspiring
us next year! This layout is about the day that I got "the call". What an incredibly anxious and exhilarating day!
Messy in a clean way... there are lots of little elements (which I love to do) I have stamped, used gesso, mists and rubs ons. I just love the dimension a clear acrylic piece can give without adding weight. Parts of the feathered paper have been cut out and I have used a feather stamp underneath.
I've experimented on this Simple Stories pocket with some Heidi Swapp clear magic medium and a mini stencil (from the pink pattern set) It makes an awesome clear resist effect. I've misted over with two shades of Color Shine - Gold Lamé and Pink) The pocket contains a copy of the congratulatory email I got from Vanessa, the Editor.
Journalling about what I did and how I felt on the day.
This is the colour palette. Wishing you a great week ahead!

ReplyDeleteI love this...it's certainly a day to be documented :) I'm sure it's been a fabulous year for you, I've loved seeing your creations!
ReplyDeleteOh I love this! I really struggle with messy but neat look. I tend to be very neat with my scrapbooking but I've tried very hard to get messy with mixed media - with mixed results unfortunately! You've given lots of ideas - thank you for sharing your pages. They are always lovely. As for 'the call' - what a great thing to document. I've enjoyed all your lovely pieces in SBM. Can you believe it's been a year already?! Time flies. I have entered for the first time this year, just for the fun of it of course. Can't wait to see all your future ventures on the blog.
